Tips for Successfully presenting a Presentation. (Blog)

Presentation is an important skill. It is not only an ability but also an opportunity to develop new skills. The entire presentation can be divided in 4 parts:

  • Preparing Power-Point
  • Navigating Power-Point
  • Delivering
  • Feedback
Public speaking is never easy and it can be nerve racking if you are not a confident speaker. With changing time the working style is changing too. Power point presentations are one of them. Before writing further let me admit that every time I go to the stage, I get butterflies in my stomach. This is mainly due to anxiety. But, I don't allow anxiety to stop  me. I take a deep breath and start my session.

Here are quick tips to make your presentation successful.

  • Preparation of Power point is an important part for a successful Presentation. No short cuts please, because research plays an important role. Clarity of thought is very important.
  • Do not write long descriptions on your slides. Identify the main points and these are to be later explained by you.
  • Do not read out your presentation to the audience.
  • Give accurate data in your presentation. Do not misguide.
  • Use slide designs carefully.
  • Ice- Breaker is very important.
  • Engage your audience
  • Never underestimate knowledge of others. Go well prepared.
  • Practice is very importance to build up your confidence.
  • Know your content well
  • Do not memorize, understanding your content is important.

  • Welcoming has to be strong. Start strong.
  • Using pictures, charts or graphs in your presentations make it interesting but don't overuse.
  • Ask questions.
  • Let your audience ask questions.
  • Include few interesting activities.
  • At no point get negative.
  • If you don't know answer to any question. Do not give false answer. Get back to them, after you find the right answer.

  • Do include some examples in your conversation but do not comment on religion or any community. Use examples to support your points. Tell inspiring stories and incidents.
Relax, don't take too much stress as it can have negative effect on your confidence.

Use enthusiasm to control stress. Be strong and respect the fact that not many get this  opportunity. Love your work and your audience will love what you speak.
